Paradise Blue Cheetah and Gilty Gold Zebra

I'm attempting to paint my nails as often as possible during my break from piano. I raided my roommate Ashley's np stash and found two new favorites: "Paradise" by Sinful Colors and "Gilty Pleadure" by Sally Hansen Complete Manicure. Paradise is a bright creamy sky blue which I can only imagine is even more beautiful in the daytime. I sit here admiring it in artificial light and can't wait for the sun to come up. I'll have to update you all with a daytime pic soon. It was two coats to full opacity. The first thin coat was streaky and I almost started to doubt my decision on picking a Sinful Colors polish out of her stash instead of a higher quality. But I was thankfully reassured by a thicker 2nd coat which brought the color to a dreamlike consistency. Gilty Pleasure is a champagne gold I used to make a couple streaks in my last post. I love it and it's so perfect on any skin color. Again it's two coats to opaque but with a light color like this, three should be perfect. I don't like to do three coats because, frankly, ain't no one got time fo that.
I was a little disappointed in myself for not thinking outside the box and reverting to animal print. I promise my next post won't be something I've done a thousand times over. Hope you enjoy!

TWO YEAR BLOGIVERSARY plus Barbie Bows

Whelp, it's my 2 year blogiversary and I've been so busy working and saving up for beauty school that I dont have anything interesting to post. I did, however jazz up my boring everyday pink and whites by adding Sally Hansen HD polish in LCD to the pink parts for a lil sparkle and blue shimmer. I painted on tiny lil now shapes in Zoya's Barbie and added a lil half pearl in matching pink to the center. All topped with INM's Out The Door topcoat (I'm out of Seche Vite).

Furthermore for my blogiversary, I would like to thank my hand models and very good friends (in alphabetical order so there's not confusion about hierarchy): Audrey and Chrissy. You are my muses. Without you my blog is a shameless, boring, self centered catalog of animal prints and boring funky French's. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for inspiring me and pushing me to try so many new things I dare not try on myself. Thank you for all the love and support and natural nails to play with. May there be many more nail designs to come.

Last but of course not least, thank you to all my followers and fellow bloggers! Your creativity and support had first inspired me to start my blog two years ago and keep going strong until now. Thanks!

30 Day Nail Challenge - Day 24 - Inspired by Fashion

Thanks, to my hand model Oddrey, I was able to do posts for my challenge without taking off my current nail design. I searched the word "fashion" on Google Images and found this trio of Gucci dresses that I picked as my inspiration for fashion nails. I used black, white, and Mellow Yellow by Sally Hansen, with a darker golden yellow (that is unnamed) on top to match the yellow in the dresses. I'm pretty happy with this design, too bad it's not on my hands!

30 Day Nail Challenege - Day 5 - Blue

I have revived a super old polish from the dead! I haven't used "The Real Teal" Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in over a year; in fact, I had forgotten about it until Audrey came over to paint her nails and she picked this one out of the bunch. I added a few drops of thinner to make it new again and painted tips on all  my fingers except my ring which has China Glazes "For Audrey". I used white, For Audrey, and The Real Teal to then stripe on some random stripes that intersect each other. I can't wait to get out of these color challenges! Like I said, just given a color, I'm feeling pretty uninspired.

White to Mint Fade + Grey Zeebz

I just recently got a package of makeup sponges (which I LOVE to use, but NEVER remember to buy, as I use makeup brushes), so I'm back on a sponging kick. This interesting color combo is a result of my recent house-cleaning day in which I moved ALL of my nail polish/implements under the bathroom sink, and these colors happened to miss the move as they were hiding on my coffee table. But I was pleasantly surprised on how it turned out! From far away, they seemed like a subtle pale green, but up close you can really see the details. I painted on two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White, then gently sponged on the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear in Mint Sorbet. I then busted out Chrissy and my franken "Ash Wangsday" (ashy grey) and painted on some zebras. The end result was awesomely subtle. But unfortunately didn't last long on my hands; I ended up messing every finger up making dinner soon after I took these pictures.

This is a remix on the mint-white design, I wanted to try darker colors and black zebra stripes for a bolder effect. I don't know which I like better. But I love having different colors on all my nails.

Also, I haven't been able to comment on anyone or my own blogs. I try to comment on y'all's blog posts and it takes me in a loop where it keeps asking me to sign in, write my comment, sign it, write my comment again, etc. This is why I haven't been giving yous guys props for your beautiful nail designs in the last two months! :( If anyone knows how to help, it would be greatly appreciated!

My Go-To Pink

I AM SO SICK OF DISNEY I can't believe I'm going to Disneyland tomorrow! I had to switch it up and end my Disney series so I could be excited about Disneyland and not tired and frustrated!

I chose to do a hot pink to contrast my platinum blonde hair that I worked on all weekend. I used this weird pink-orange neon that my girl Julia gave me-which color number rubbed off, and topped it with my GO -TO pink shimmer which is Sally Hansen's HD in LCD. I've said it before and I've said it again, it is such a pretty color in the sun, you can see a tiny bit of blue micro-shimmer. Then decorated it with teeny tiny leopard spots that I did using a nail pen. :) Maybe I will post a non-nail related picture from Disneyland. <3

ADORABLE Rainbow Polkadotted Tips :)

Rainbows are not usually my kind of thing, but surprisingly I kept this set on longer than 1 day! I had it on for a full 2 days, and that's something. They are just SO cute! I painted on pink, orange, yellow, green, and blue French tips, and used my dotting tool to carefully make large white dots on top (and of course a good think layer of my go-to glitter top coat.) The following colors were used in this design:
NYC "Pink Promenade Creme"
MilaniNEON "Awesome Orange"
Sally Hansen Instant Dry "Lightening"
Wet N Wild "Green with Envy"
Sally Hansen Complete Manicure "Blue Calypso"
This is a simple, but very cute design that really doesn't require much talent, just a steady hand.

Got grapes?

I had to take one of these pictures with a flash because you couldnt really see the design but I sorta warped the colors... This was just a fast asymetrical tip design I did when I was to lazy and lacking creativity. I don't even like the color purple anyways; it's a good thing I did this particular design because my roomate caught a glimpse of these and had me do an almost identical version on her. The lighter of the purple is Nicole by OPI's "Virtuous Violet" and the darker is "Purple Pizzazz" by Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. I used my dotting tool to line the seam between the two purps. Got graaapes?

New colors

My roomate brought home a ton of new nail polishes this afternoon including the new Sally Hansen HD polish. We got "Blu", a see-through sparkly medium blue, and "LCD", a see-though bright pink with tiny tiny blue sparkles in it. I used NYC "Pink Promenade Creme" as a base for my french tips and then topped them off with the "LCD". Then I added some twinkle designs with my striping brush in Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure "Calypso Blue" to bring out the blue sparkles in the pink, but I'm not sure if you can really see it in the pictures. Then I stuck some rhinestones on there and topped everything off with some top coat.
I was playing around before I did all my nails and painted this really cute skull, which I later redid on my roomate when I painted her nails. Enjoi.

Experimentation Time

Im experimenting with designs right now while my boyfriend plays video games. This is just an asymetrical tip design with layers of blue and purple, and of course, glitter. The lightest blue that I used is Nicole's "Respect the World", in the middle is one coat of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails "Purple Pizzazz" and then a second coat to make the third stripe. I did add three hot purple dots to the left side (one for each different color of stripes) but you can barely see it in the picture I took with my iPhone. I've been so lazy taking the pictures because its so much faster to upload with my iPhone than it is to upload the pictures from my camera to the computer. I'll do that someday when I'm not so lazy.
