30 Day Nail Challenge - Day 30 - Inspired by a Tutorial - Plants vs. Zombies
OK so I'm going to make this short: this wasn't a tutorial, but it WAS someone elses nail design. They had french tips in bright green with these crazy zombie heads on them. Oddrey, my lovely hand model is modeling these right now for me as I needed to paint my other challenge on my hand. After I already had painted them on, I realized their original picture was copyrightedand I couldn't show you guys what it looked like! Also I didn't even know these were Plants vs. Zombies zombies until I showed my boyfriend the picture! I thought they were just super cute zombies. :)
I'M DONE WITH THIS CHALLENGE FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

30 Day Nail Challenge - Day 27 - Inspired by Artwork - Tokidoki
For my "Inspired by an Artwork" post I decided to do Tokidoki characters because they are so cute. I really dropped the ball on pretty much every nail except the thumb, but I'm still pretty conten with how the design turned out as a whole. I'm going to also try to paint/upload my next challenge post tonight too- only 4 more to go!!!

Pokeballs!

So my girlfriend Chrissy is going to Fanime this weekend and is dressing up as Pikachu, so we looked up different Pokeballs to put on her nails! There are sooooo many different kinds! I thought there was only one (the red and white one). Well, I'm not going to list the names of the different Pokeballs since I really am not familiar with any of them. Pikachu! I choose you!!!

The Bear Necessities - Disney Series #7
This post is for Maricure
d Monkey at manicuredmonkey.blogspot.com. Sorry I'm having hella trouble posting links lately. But yeah here is the Jungle Book and a special close up shop of King Louie the orangutang monkey (I think technically he's an ape since he doesn't have a tail). :) I got hella lazy doing the middle-pinky fingers because I was having soooo much trouble painting the tiger (which, obviously, is not shown since I kept trying to redo it...)
I forgot to put a topcoap on, so it's not shinny at all except for where the nail polish is, and you can totally see my acrylics starting to grow out! Yuck!
Here are all the characters if you can't figure it out yourself:
Thumb - King Louie
Pointer - Khan
Middle - Balou the Bear!
Ring - Mowgli
Pinky - Bagira
Yayyy, I can cross another movie off my list today!
I still have time before my trip, and am crossing requests off my list at a steady rate, so I am still free to take a few more requests! Enjoy, and stay tuned for more Disney movie nails! Thank you everyone for following and commenting- I love getting feedback!

Off With Her Head!!! - Disney Series #6
FOR ASHLEY...
OK, so I went AWOL and took the weekend off from posting, but I'm back in action and have another movie on my list of requests that I can finally cross off!
I have never seen this movie- or the remake by Tim Burton, but I love the colors and the characters are super cute.
I was actually in an Alice costume one time for Harmony's thesis film which I will update with a pic from later... here's the film!! (By Harmony Nichol. I'm the one dressed up like Alice!!!
Paisley's Tale from Harmony Nichol on Vimeo.
Here's the nail cast:
Thumb- The lovely Alice
Pointer- The Mad Hatter
Middle and Ring- The Cheshire Cat and tail
Pinky- The Queen of Hearts
Since I have never seen this movie, I was only familiar with the Queen from skanky costumes during Halloween and thought that the Queen would be beautiful, sexy, and evil. She's just manly and super gross! Boy, was I wrong... :(
Ashley also requested I do Nightmare Before Christmas, but since it's not AS Disney as the previous posts, I will wait on that one along with Who Framed Roger Rabbit? and Wall-E. If I have time before the trip and have posted all my requests, I'll do those ones.
Enjoy, and stay tuned for more of your favorites and as always, feel free to comment with a request or email me at crybaby_stina@hotmail.com
Ciao!

Cruella Deville - Disney Series #5
Under the Sea! - Disney Series #4
Does anyone else think it's weird that Flounder has a nose even though he's a fish?
This post is for Annelise- you can check out her nail art blog NoNakedNails.
She's really not the only one who loves the Little Mermaid though. I think I had only one pinata in my life (that I can remember) and it was shaped like Flounder.
As you can see, Ursula is kinda crazy looking. It's too bad because I love love love Ursula and I painted her on really crappy. I tried my best, but it just came out looking really awkward. I show my loyalty to her by giving her tentacles an extra nail to show off. Ariel's lipstick is smeared and she looks a bit like a vampire, but hey, that's in right now. If you can't tell- that's Prince Eric on the pinky there.
Well, I hope you guys are enjoying my Disney nail journey. And of course, I am still taking requests! Enjoi!
Aladdin! - Disney Series #3
Soooo, day 3 of my Disney series and I am pooped already. Pooped from making skin color blends on a piece of paper... pooped from making Disney eyes, which I stink at.... Basically, I've never been good at drawing peope (or painting for that matter)... So my people characters like Jafar and especially Princess Jasmine comeout looking awkward and Picasso-esque.
I have a short list of requests and I definitely have the time....The question is 'am I motivated enough to paint only Disney characters the next 3 weeks?'.
If anyone was wondering why I'm only choosing 5 characters and not 10, it's because I don't want to put Disney to too much shame by painting with my left hand and also AFTER I update my blog I remove the freaky lil pictures from my fingers and paint on French tips again. Yes, it's a lot of work, but after my first incident of trying to take a shower with the South Park kids on my nails, I know now that it's too creepy to have 5 or 10 pairs of eyes staring up at you all the time.
So, if anyone can't actually tell who I painted in this picture, it is as follows:
Thumb- Aladdin
Pointer- Genie
Middle- Jasmine (Yikes! I know...)
Ring- Jafar
Pinky- Iago
Stay tuned, folks!

Hakuna Matata - Disney Series #2
Yayyy! For my 2nd Disney series design, I did Lion King because my boyfriend loves loves loves the Lion King! Rafiki was sooooo hard to do, also I hate the way he turned out. So on the thumb I did a young Simba, then from right to left I have Pumba, Rafiki, Scar, and Zazu. Scar doesn't actually have a scar on his eye in this, because I forgot to paint it on. Stay tuned! More Disney character nails to come!
Hakuna Matata!!
Hi Ho! - 5 of the 7 Dwarves!!! Disney Series #1
Hi Ho! Hi Ho!
My boyfriend and I are going to Disneyland in a couple of weeks, so until Spring Break I will be posting a series of Disney nails to get myself pepped up for the trip! This will be my first time back to Disneyland since high school so I'm super excited.
Ok, so here I've done Grumpy, Bashful, Doc, Dopey, and Sleepy; I was going to finish out and do the other two, however it was getting late and it is hard to make the Dwarves because I had to mix each color to make their hats and skin. So I can't list the colors, but I can tell you what tools I used. I used a dotting tool, a very very thin brush (like 6 bristles), a small nail art brush, and a piece of paper to mix the colors on.
I can't wait to see what's next but I'm going to get started on my next Disney post now. I will also take suggestions as I have 2 weeks til the trip.

Pink Polkies with Bowties!
Super cute short nails tipped with a revamped version of my red and white Minnie Mouse nails, but in PINK! These look a lot like my hands, but they are Chrissys, and we have suprisingly almost the same exact nail sizes. Would give a nail color breakdown, but unfortunately I am unaware of the name of the base pink, however it's got a coat of Sally Hansen's HD in LCD, which is my favorite of the collection. A light see-through pink with micro shimmers of blue in certain light. Goes good on top of any shade of pink.

Rasta and Yoshi Nail Night
Also, in response to No Naked Nails' Seche Vite blog post/question: Oddrey's natural nails painted with a coat of Seche Vite top coat are having the same peeling problem you described. I haven't had this problem, maybe because I have acrylics.
Oddrey and I were really better off painting her nails with an off brand top coat. They lasted an entire week without chipping or peeling.

Intergalactic Fun with Martha Stewart Glitters...

FINALLY! I got the Martha Stewart glitter set!!!! (From my loving boyfriend for my birthday!) I made tons of mixes already and this is the acrylic mix I made last and have had on for about 2 weeks now. Its the Sterling (silver) glitter mixed with Lapis Lazuli (blue), Verdalite (green), and Tourmaline (pink) tinsel glitter (skinny rectangles). I thought it looked like a space party, so I painted on an adorable yet ominous UFO to match. Messed it up while drying in the 2nd picture on one of the UFO windows, but still cute.
Spiderman.. Spiderman...

For my darling Kevin, who love Spiderman and Venom. In the background you can see some sketches of the Venom smiley face and the atoms from the science nail designs. The background of the first picture is Kevin's Complete Spiderman Encyclopedia or something like that; I used it to see detailed pictures of Spidey's mask and Venom's face. These Spidey designs are on my right hand which is usually never photographed. So each design was painted with my left hand! I did this because the science nails were painted on my left hand. Eat your heart out, Mary Jane.
Freaky GEEKY Friday!

For my MOM! who is a geeky lil scientist lady, I bring you: The Science of Nail Art. You're fully equipped with a bloody syringe, an atom, Zinc's square in the periodic table, some graduated cylinders, and some kind of amoeba or bacteria or something. For you,Mom, you never get your nails painted anymore, but maybe this will change your mind about it. Love you! Kisses :-*
